The album “Aşk” by Netherlands-based Turkish psychedelic rock band Altin Gün is the number one album at the World Music Charts Europe in April 2023.
Altın Gün’s fifth album, “Aşk,” embodies the nostalgic 70s Anatolian folk-rock sound that defined their first two records, while also exuding the lively and captivating energy that characterizes their acclaimed live shows in Amsterdam.
“It’s definitely connecting more with a live sound – almost like a live album,” says bassist Jasper Verhulst. “We, as a band, just going into a rehearsal space together and creating music together instead of demoing at home.”
Musicians: Merve Daşdemir on vocals and keyboards; Erdinç Ecevit on vocals, saz and keyboards; Thijs Elzinga on guitar; Jasper Verhulst on bass; Daniel Smienk on drums; and Chris Bruining on percussion.
