Mongolian Sound Worlds, New Book from University of Illinois Press

Mongolian Sound Worlds is the title of the new book published by University of Illinois Press, edited by ennifer C. Post, Sunmin Yoon, and Charlotte D’Evelyn.

Mongolian Sound Worlds illustrates fieldwork in locations throughout Mongolia. The contributors describe Mongolia’s musical genres; instruments like the morin khuur, tovshuur, and Kazakh dombyra; fusion band culture; and urban popular music.
