Dorota Barová Releases Second Solo Album, Dotyk

Vocalist and cellist Dorota Barová has released her second solo album, titled “Dotyk” (Touch). The album comes three years after her successful debut release “Iluzja” (Illusion) that received the Czech Music Academy Award for jazz album of 2018.

“Dotyk” features a collection of Dorota’s original songs and lyrics which she recorded together with guitarist Miroslav Chyška and bassist Miloš Klápště.

The entire album is in Polish and aside from Barová’s lyrics it also includes a poem by Polish poet Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński and a text by Polish author and journalist Teresa Drozda. The new album is characterized by an intimate atmosphere and simplicity that recalls Dorota’s debut recording.

The album “Dotyk” is about encounters and those fleeting moments that can cause an upheaval and bring about important change in life. It is about a search of reconciliation as such, not only with oneself. It is about love, but not only that. The title song it is about the delicacy and power of touch”, says Dorota Barová.

In addition to her successful solo career, Dorota Barová is also known as member of the acclaimed Tara Fuki duo (two Czech Music Academy Awards holders) that she founded with Andrea Konstankiewicz twenty years ago. Since then, Tara Fuki has recorded six albums, toured all over Europe and South America, and performed at the influential Womex and Czech Music Crossroads showcases.
