El viaje infinito, a journey through Spanish folk Music September 16-18

The SGAE Foundation will celebrate the diversity of Spanish traditional music in September, highlighting Spanish roots music through a unique lineup of folklorists and singer-songwriters. Under the title El viaje infinito (The infinite journey), the Sala Berlanga venue will host this event from September 16 to 18 at 8:00 p.m.

El viaje infinito will give the public the opportunity to enjoy different approaches to the vast repertoire of popular Spanish folk music program designed by Joaquín Díaz, leading disseminator of the Castilian oral tradition and one of the greatest researchers of the Spanish folk traditions.

The infinite journey will feature legendary and trailblazing artists such as Raúl Rodríguez and Eliseo Parra as well as the more experimental gaze of Luis Delgado and Vivere Memento, the trio that includes Delgado together with Joaquín Pardilla and María José Hernández. The series will also include an allegorical face to face between singer-songwriters Lídia Pujol and Cecilia. The event will also include a tribute to the zanfona (hurdy-gurdy) by one of its greatest performers,  Germán Díaz who will play accompanied on this occasion by jazz trumpeter David Herrington.
