Acclaimed Congolese band Jupiter & Okwess has released new single titled Na Kozonga (“the return” in Lingala). On Na Kozonga, Jupiter sings in Lingala, French and German. The song is a cover of “Gotta Go Home” by Boney M (itself a cover of Hallo Bimmelbahn’s “Nighttrain”).
The music video was shot in Kinshasa and is dedicated to “tata Bokondji” (Jupiter’s father who has passed recently. Jupiter & Okwess are set to release a new album in early 2021.
Jupiter & Okwess combine Congolese rhythms, rock and funk. The band’s discography includes Hotel Univers (Out Here Records, 2013), Troposphère 13 (Zamora, 2016) and Kin Sonic (Zamora, 2017).
