¡Localquerque! to Bring World Music to the 2009 New Mexico State Fair

¡Globalquerque! will present ¡Localquerque! on September 20. ¡Localquerque! is a festival of World Music at the 2009 New Mexico State Fair! Localquerque! will feature some of the best local World Music acts from the New Mexican back yard! Performers include Wagogo (New Mexico/Zimbabwe), Rebbes Orkestra (Klezmer/Judaic), Los Reyes de Albuquerque (New Mexico, USA), Gamelan Encantada (Bali), Assane & Ousseynou Kouyate (Senegal), Kathryn Stately & Bob Mihovilovich (Eastern European).

The day kicks off the ¡Globalquerque! statewide, weeklong celebration of World Music & Culture, culminating in the main event: The 5th Annual ¡Globalquerque! Festival September 25th & 26th at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM featuring 20 performances from 17 international world music acts on 3 stages over 2 nights.
