Indian Ocean

Indian Ocean is known for its superb performance of original music that ranges from rocking political anthems to meditative spiritual ballads. The group has attracted a huge audience over the past 10 years.

This quartet from Delhi composes songs of liberation and redemption, which combine memorable melodies with compelling rhythms that bring audiences to their feet.

Indian Ocean has released several albums over the course of their career: Indian Ocean (1993), Desert Rain (1997), Kandisa (2000), Jhini (2003), and the Original Sound Track for the feature film Black Friday (2005).

Indian Ocean was originally comprised of Susmit Sen on guitar and vocals; Asheem Chakravarty on tabla, other percussion and vocals; Rahul Ram on bass guitar and vocals; and Amit Kilam on drums, gabgubi, other percussion, recorder and vocals. Susmit Sen released his solo debut album Depths of the Ocean in 2011. He left the band in 2013 and was replaced by Nikhil Rao.
