Ester Rada (Ethiopia/Israel) is set to perform on Sunday, September 27th at Revival Bar in Toronto. The concerts is presented in association with the Koffler Centre for the Arts.
Ethiopian-born Israeli singer Ester Rada’s cross-cultural sound blends classic soul with African influences of Fela Kuti-style funk and Ethiopiques cool jazz.
Singing in English and Amharic, her seductive voice carries echoes of Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald, while standing shoulder to shoulder with contemporary greats like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu. her discography includes Ester Rada, I Wish and Singing Chava Alberstein.
