World Music Expo (WOMEX) revealed today that multifaceted Cape Verdean artist Mario Lúcio Sousa is the winner of the 2014 WOMEX 2014 Professional Excellence Award.
Mario Lúcio Sousa is equally talented as a musician, singer, poet, lawyer, director of multiple arts foundations as well as the Minister for Culture in Cape Verde.
Mario Lúcio will receive his award for his inestimable contributions to the arts and culture of Cape Verde and the increasing visibility of Cape Verdean music on the world stage.
