Šunen savore / Slyšte všichni (Indies Scope MAM509, 2012)
Czech artist Ida Kelarová has a new recording titled Šunen Savore (Listen Everyone), where she is joined by vocalist and guitarist Desiderius Dužda and the band Jazz Famelija.
Šunen Savore contains fifteen songs where Ida Kelarová and her bandmates perform a mix of laid back jazz, Roma (Gypsy)-infused melodies, fiery Latin jazz, Django-style Gypsy jazz, and bossa nova.
The line-up on the album features Ida Kelarova on vocals, Desiderius Dužda on vocals and guitar, Ondrej Krajňák on piano, keyboard; Roman Jánoška on violin; Tomáš Baroš on acoustic bass; Marián Ševčík on drums; Yonatan Bar Rashi on percussions.
Guests include Marie Duždová on vocals, Jan Dužda on vocals, Oto Bunda on vocals, Ondrej Čtveráček on saxophone, Július Baroš on trumpet, Štěpán Janoušek on trombone, and special guest Lelo Nika on accordion.
Ida Kelarová comes from musical family. She studied violoncello and piano at Janáček Conservatory in Brno. She considers her best teacher to be her father Koloman Bitto, an outstanding musician who lived for music. He dedicated the upbringing of his two of three daughters to music – Ida and her no less famous sister Iva Bittová.
Ida spent part of her life in Great Britain, Denmark and Norway. In 1995 she returned to the Czech Republic to continue the work she had started in England. The list of her activities is quite long. Ida is accomplished respectable singer, musician, conductor, music artist and producer. She is inspired by her Gypsy roots.
She founded the International School for Human Voice and is also focusing her efforts on helping talented gypsy children and youth.
