Brazilian icon Daniela Mercury to Perform at Greek Theater in Los Angeles

One of Brazil’s most popular singers, Daniela Mercury, will be performing at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles on October 13, 2011. Guest artists will be Brothers Of Brazil.

With more #1 hits than any other woman in Brazilian history, Daniela Mercury is the most internationally recognized female Brazilian performer of her generation. Mercury makes her Greek Theater debut with music from her sensational new release – Canibália—an electronica-laced mix of pop, samba, bossa nova, reggae, axe, merengue, and salsa. Daniela Mercury has constantly pushed and redefined the boundaries of Brazilian popular music; bold, curious, and endlessly inventive, she stirs and heats the cauldron that is the astounding diversity of Brazilian music.

It’s probably safe to say that you’ve never heard anything like Brothers Of Brazil before. For the past three years the brotherly duo of Supla and Joäo have been making some of the most original songs around by combining elements of traditional Brazilian music such as Bossa nova and samba with rock and funk to create a unique sound that’s won over countless fans in the band’s home base of South America—and now they’re finally ready to expand worldwide with the release of their self-titled album.

The Greek Theatre is located in Griffith Park at:
