London African Music Festival 2011 Celebrates 21 Years

The 9th London African Music Festival is set to take place in several venues throughout London between September 9-18th. Highlights include Tiken Jah Fakoly, Sona Jobarteh, Terrakota, Etienne Mbappe, Hassan Erraji, and Ola Onabule.

The venues hosting events include The Jazz Cafe (Friday 9th-Sunday 11th), Bloomsbury Theatre (Mon 12th – Tues 13th), Stratford Circus (Wed 14th – Thurs 15th), South Bank (Fri 16th – Sun 18th) and the Ritzy Upstairs on Sunday 10th, Friday 16th and Saturday 17th with a truly extra event at Richmix on the 25th October.

International visitors and world class UK based artists share great billing with an affordable range of tickets. The range of music is extraordinary, from pure tradition to blues, soul and funk and cross cultural expressions of totally original material from a wealth of African origins.
