The Maestranza Theatre will serve as one of the main stages of the 2026 La Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, with a program that combines world premieres, orchestral collaborations and one-night-only flamenco performances.
Following Sara Baras’ Infinita, scheduled for Sept. 11, 12 and 13, the theater will host another major world premiere on Sept. 26. Israel Galván will debut Bolero de blanco y negro, his latest production.
The Maestranza program will also feature several exclusive performances. On Sept. 19, National Music Prize-winning guitarist Juan Manuel Cañizares will join the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville (ROSS) for Cañizares Sinfónico.
José Mercé will follow on Sept. 20 with his new production, Toquen a rebato. Then, on Sept. 22, Manuel Liñán will return to Seville with Baila@r.
On Sept. 24, Esperanza Fernández, Duquende, José Valencia, Pepe Torres and Nazaret Reyes will share the stage for A Canela y Clavo.
Two days later, Israel Galván will present his world premiere, while Farruquito will bring his acclaimed Serás Farruquito to the theater on Sept. 28.
The program will continue on Oct. 1, when Marina Heredia joins the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville for ¡En libertad! El camino de los gitanos.
Finally, the Bienal will close at the Maestranza on Oct. 3 with Perlas a Millares, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of Antología de la Mujer en el Cante. Carmen Linares will lead the production alongside Marina Heredia, María Terremoto, Rafaela Carrasco and other artists.
