La Unión guitarist Pablo Barrionuevo Bernal, known as Pablo Barrionuevo, won the Bordón Minero at the 65th Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas in his hometown of La Unión, Murcia, Spain.
The Bordón Minero, the competition’s top award for flamenco guitar, carries a €6,000 prize.
Madrid guitarist Diego Antonio Fernández Montoya, known professionally as Pino Losada, took second place. He received €2,000.
