WOMAD Abu Dhabi Will Bring World Music to the Gulf Area in April 2009

WOMAD and Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) have announced the launch of a new international event, WOMAD Abu Dhabi in April 2009.

WOMAD are very excited to be working with ADACH and to have the opportunity to bring the world-renowned festival to the Gulf for the first time. The event will bring a whole new cultural experience to the people of Abu Dhabi and will attract an audience from across the Gulf region and beyond.

The three-day open-air festival is being held at several stunning locations in Abu Dhabi, Capital of the United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi is one of the world’s most multicultural cities, and yet remains rich in Arabic culture and tradition making it a perfect setting for a WOMAD festival.

The artists performing at this event will be chosen from around the world and within the Abu Dhabi region for a truly international experience.
