Piranha Arts, the organizers of world music expo WOMEX, have announced the full list of Jury-selected Showcase artists and Club Summit performers for the 31st edition of the event, set to take place this October in Tampere. The current program includes 38 acts from 46 countries, with additional announcements forthcoming for the regional stage, offWOMEX, the Opening program, and the WOMEX Awards.
The 2025 lineup reflects WOMEX’s ongoing commitment to global musical diversity. Highlights include Ethiopian jazz pioneer Dawit Yifru, Indigenous Brazilian carimbó group Suraras do Tapajós, and genre-defying American act Gangstagrass. Also featured are Tanzania’s Zawose Queens, continuing the legacy of the Zawose musical family, and UK-based bhangra icon Malkit Singh with his Golden Star ensemble.
This year’s Club Summit highlights innovation in worldwide electronic music. Jako Maron of La Réunion presents his signature electro maloya; Missex, a Colombian-Spanish collaboration, combines tropical rhythms with electroclash; and MzRizk, a Lebanese-Australian DJ and producer, offers inclusive sets inspired by Middle Eastern and North African sounds.
Since 1994, WOMEX has served as a key international platform for world music-related artists across generations and genres. Now in its 31st year, it continues to connect musicians, professionals, and audiences worldwide, emphasizing artistic innovation, cross-cultural exchange, and inclusivity.
