Jaime Muñoz is a Spanish multi-instrumentalist specializing in ethnic and medieval music. He holds an advanced degree in Baroque traverso from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. Additionally, he has pursued further training through workshops and seminars on wooden transverse flute, Basque and diatonic accordion, kaval, and Bulgarian and Eastern-style clarinet, studying with both Spanish and international experts.
He is a founding member of La Musgaña, a contemporary traditional music group with which he has recorded twelve albums and toured internationally for over 37 years. At the same time, he has spent more than three decades researching and promoting the traditional music of central Spain.
Currently, Muñoz combines his artistic work with teaching. He is a professor of ethnic flutes and contributes to the Master’s program in Iberian Peninsula Folklore at the Centro Superior Música Creativa. Moreover, he collaborates on early music projects and film soundtracks.
