Silkroad’s Global Musician Workshop (GMW) is now accepting applications for its 2025 program, scheduled for August 10-16, 2025 at the New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts.
Designed for musicians of all backgrounds and instruments, including vocalists, this intensive training program fosters cross-cultural collaboration. Directed by cellist Mike Block, GMW follows the Silkroad Ensemble’s model, bringing together 70 musicians from over 25 countries for a week of creative exchange.
Participants engage in faculty-led bands, world music workshops, and elective classes, culminating in a multi-night performance festival. Faculty members include Silkroad Ensemble musicians and guest artists specializing in diverse musical traditions. Nightly jam sessions further enhance the immersive experience.
