Didon Delivers a Healing Message Through Enchanting Arabic Music and Electronica

Didon – Malak (Electrofone, 2024)

The Didon duo is back with Malak (Angel), another fantastic album that elegantly brings together Arabic and North African rhythms and melodies along with spellbinding electronics.

The brilliant duo presents the beguiling and sublime Arabic vocals of Meriem Ben Amor, a Tunisian Canadian singer-songwriter. Meriem’s partner is phenomenal American musician and producer Carmen Rizzo, who delivers a wide range of exuberant sounds that intertwine Middle Eastern and North African music with cutting-edge electronica.

Malak materialized as an instinctive project, reflecting Didon’s experiences and observations during times of global instability. They believe that art is a valuable form of advocacy. Furthermore, the duo thinks that music holds the potential to heal, foster awareness, and unite people.

Thorugh Malak, Didon conveys themes of mindfulness, strength, and hope, aimed at resonating with the enduring spirit of those in pursuit of freedom.
