Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Party Rise to the Top of Transglobal World Music Chart for November 2024

The album Chain of Light by the late qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Party has secured the top position of the Transglobal World Music Chart for the month of November 2024.

Chain of Light is a new album of previously unreleased recordings by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, released 34 years after they were made. Joined by his eight-member ensemble of singers and musicians, Chain of Light presents four traditional qawwals (Sufi Islamic devotional songs), including one which has never been heard before.

The album captures Khan at the height of his vocal capabilities in pristine sound quality. The recording was made at Real World Studios in April 1990, during the same time he worked on the groundbreaking Mustt Mustt, his seminal crossover album with Canadian producer Michael Brook.
