John Metcalfe Releases “Tree – The Heartwood Remixes”

Released on August 2 via Real World Records, “Tree – The Heartwood Remixes” features John Metcalfe reworking three tracks from his previous album, “Tree.” The project begins with the release of the “Dusk (Heartwood Remix).”

Metcalfe aims to delve deeper into the album’s emotional essence through these remixes. The string recording sessions at Abbey Road were significant for him, focusing on capturing raw performances with minimal production. He has stripped away many elements to highlight the core sound of the original recordings.

“Dusk,” one of Metcalfe’s favorite tracks from Tree, is the first remix released. It reflects the transition from day to night, with a chord progression that symbolizes the emerging stars as the sun sets.
