Los Gaiteros De San Jacinto Touring North America

Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto, a renowned Colombian cumbia and gaita group, is currently touring North America. The group, winners of the 2007 Latin Grammy and nominees for the 2020 Latin Grammy for Best Folk Album, is promoting their new album, Orgullo Colombiano (Colombian Pride).

Released on May 31, 2024, Orgullo Colombiano features 12 tracks, including 10 new songs by prominent composers such as Rafael Castro Fernández and emerging talents like Marlon Peroza, also known as the Poet of the Gaita. The album includes cumbias like “Quien No Conozca Mi Pueblo,” “Dame Un Beso,” and the title track, as well as gaita corrida songs like “Ya Se Va Mendoza,” “El Camino Del Indio,” and “El Canto De La Carracacha.”

Notable collaborations on the album include the puya rhythm song “Cuando Cantan Las Mujeres” with Carmen Antolínez, the Cumbia Queen, and the gaita porro rhythm song “El Octubre Que Venía” featuring Marlon Peroza. Both guest artists are members of Gaiteros de Pueblo Santo.

Orgullo Colombiano was released by OM Producciones Music and distributed on vinyl LP by Bad Vibes Good Friends, an American label based in San Diego, California. The album’s production was overseen by Javier Mutis García, a long-time collaborator with Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto. Recording took place at ABC Records studios in Barranquilla, with Manuel Guillermo handling capture and mixing, and mastering by Carlos Silva at C1 Mastering studios in Bogotá. Executive production was managed by Jorge Ortega from the Chicago Colombian Fest.
