Andrés Barrios – KM.0 (Andrés Barrios, 2024)
Andrés Barrios’ 2024 album, KM.0, is a dual project; both an exploration of his Andalusian roots and a reflection of his personal and artistic evolution. The innovative flamenco album brilliantly traverses the rich landscapes of cities in southern Spain, Utrera, Jerez, Huelva, Cádiz, and Málaga while incorporating global musical influences.
Notably, KM.0 features Barrios’ stellar performances on the piano as well as collaborations with renowned artists such as Estrella Morente, Pedro el Granaíno, and Jordanian violinist Layth Sidiq.
Deeply grounded in flamenco’s diverse styles, the elegant, impeccable album captures the essence of Barrios’ hometown of Utrera, where flamenco serves as both a foundation and a source of innovation.
Born in Utrera, in Seville province, in 1997, Barrios is a pianist and composer known for his eclectic and transformative approach to flamenco. With classical training and a strong command of jazz, he brings a bold 21st-century perspective to the genre, seamlessly combining it with global sounds.
