World Music Institute to Present Jordan’s Farah Siraj

Presented by the World Music Institute, Farah Siraj headlines the Women’s Voices Series on Saturday, April 13, at Joe’s Pub located at 425 Lafayette St., Manhattan. Doors open at 6 PM, followed by the show at 7 PM.

Farah Siraj, a distinguished member of the WMI Honorary Board and acclaimed as Jordan’s Musical Ambassadress, commands a versatile career spanning the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. With performances at renowned global venues, she annually represents Jordan on United Nations World Peace Day.

Leading a diverse quintet composed of top-tier musicians from the Middle East, Europe, the United States, and South America, Farah Siraj seamlessly combines music from these regions. Her world music ensemble has captivated audiences across the Middle East, India, Europe, the United States, and South America, with sold-out concerts. Notably, during her tour of India, she shared the stage with acclaimed composer A.R. Rahman, delivering a live rendition of “Zariya” on MTV, which soared to the top of music charts in India and the Middle East. Farah will present tracks from her album, Dunya.

Beyond her musical endeavors, Farah actively engages in humanitarian efforts, focusing on raising awareness about the ramifications of war, violence, and advocating for the rights of women, refugees, and animals. Her contributions have been recognized through invitations to perform at the United Nations Humanitarian Awards and having her music featured before the United Nations Security Council during deliberations on legislation concerning the genocide in Darfur. For Farah, music serves as a conduit for peace and a platform to amplify the voices of marginalized communities worldwide.
