Ethio-Jazz vocalist, songwriter, and cultural activist, Meklit, has unveiled “Ethio Blue,” the title track from her forthcoming EP Ethio Blue, set to release on March 8th.
This six-song collection delves into inner landscapes with prescience. Paying homage to Mongo Santamaria‘s influential track “Afro-Blue,” the song honors the rich legacy passed down by Meklit’s predecessors.
Collaborating with GRAMMY-winning songwriter and producer Dan Wilson, Ethio Blue features Ethio Jazz-inspired rhythms, highlighting Meklit’s deeply personal songwriting.
