Rising Flamenco Stars at Sala Berlanga in Madrid

The SGAE Foundation is set to present a new edition of Nuevos Territorios (New Territories). This musical series relies on the creative processes of recognized artists who will spotlight rising artists for the Foundation and the public. On this occasion, which will take place at the Sala Berlanga in Madrid from December 8 to 9, the Foundation invited flamenco singer Soleá Morente to share new flamenco stars: Rubén Campos, Alicia Morales, Estrella de Manuela, and ‘El Popo’.

Soleá Morente, the singer-songwriter from Granada, who has explored the seams between flamenco, rumba, pop, and indie rock through albums such as Ole Lorelei or Lo que te falta, will chat with journalist César Luquero (head writer at Rockdelux) on Friday, December 8, starting at 7:30 p.m., before the start of the first day, with performances by Granada natives Rubén Campos, regular guitarist for Soleá and his brother Kiki Morente; and Alicia Morales, one of the most talented new vocalists representing current flamenco. Her early career has already earned her several awards. She will present TU esencia, which is about the legacy of her mother, who died five months ago.

During the second day, on Saturday, December 9, starting at 8:30 p.m., the series will present Abril, the first album by Estrella de Manuela, also from Granada.

The series will end with Pedro Gabarre ‘El Popo’ from Madrid who fuses flamenco, hip-hop, dance, and percussion.
