Conjunto Picafumo brings together big names in São Paulo samba to pay homage to Toinho Melodia. The group, which accompanied Toinho for eight years, recorded its first and only album with the famed samba singer and songwriter. The group is led by composer and cavaquinho player Rodolfo Gomes.
The lineup includes Rodolfo Gomes (cavaquinho), Matheus Nascimento (seven-string guitar), Felipe Siles (accordion), Verônica Borges (surdo), André Santos, Paulinho Timor and Alfredo Castro (percussion).
Conjunto Picafumo secured a spot to showcase their talent at the Malungo Festival 2023, a vibrant celebration of Brazilian Black Culture through both in-person and video performances.
