An.Kara – Selmas Hus (Glacier Records, 2022)
An.Kara is an excellent Norwegian acoustic folk fusion trio that draws inspiration from various musical traditions. Their latest album is Selmas Hus and even though An.Kara’s primary influence is Eastern European folk music, they also deftly add Norwegian folk and jazz into the flavorful and charming mix.
The band members, bassist Audun Ramo, fiddler Sebastian Gruchot and percussionist Arild Nyborg, deliver a joyful and party-filled musical experience. Their album features 10 songs, each highlighting their exceptional talent and skillful combination of diverse musical elements. The music ranges from lively dance tunes to somber Balkan melodies.
