Transnational ensemble Quatuor Byron (the Byron Quartet) and classical guitarist Matteo Mela have teamed up to celebrate the music of Spain and the guitar on a new album titled “Souvenir d’Espagne” (souvenir of Spain) that was released in February 2023
“Souvenir d’Espagne” includes fascinating new arrangements of pieces by Spanish composer and guitarist Joaquin Turina and Italian composer, and guitarist as well, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (who also had Spanish roots).
Quatuor Byron string quartet includes Wendy Ghysels on first violin; François James on second violin; Robin Lemmel on viola; and Coralie Devars on cello.
