Abir el Abed, a renowned singer born in Tangier, Morocco in 1992, hails from a family with a deep appreciation for the arts. At the tender age of 9, her parents enrolled her in the National Conservatory of Tangier to hone her talents. While pursuing her studies, she concurrently received instruction in music theory, piano, and Andalusian music, where she quickly gained recognition for her singular voice and impressive vocal techniques, which were remarkable for her young age.
Subsequently, Abir participated in numerous groups and workshops at the conservatory, including the Choral Al Boughaz and the Andalusian music ensemble, among others. In 2011, the esteemed researcher, Omar Metioui, facilitated her entry into the Moroccan music scene, where she took part in several events and cultural festivals specializing in Arab-Andalusian music. In nearly all these groups, Abir El Abed assumed the role of the primary singer.
From 2011, she embarked on an international career, performing in various countries such as Algeria, Tunisia, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, and Canada, among others. After completing her degree in economics at the Faculty of Economics in Tangier, she opted to dedicate herself entirely to her artistic pursuits. In 2017, Abir achieved a prominent position in the Arab world by reaching the final stage of MBC’s famous show, Arab’s Got Talent, and subsequently receiving numerous invitations to participate in television programs.
El Abed’s vocal style draws inspiration from Moroccan, Arab-Andalusian, jazz, flamenco and blues music, imbuing her performances with a distinct flavor that is all her own.
