Janusz Prusinowski Kompania - Po Śladach

Janusz Prusinowski Kompania Follow the Path of Village Masters

Janusz Prusinowski Kompania – Po Śladach / In the Footsteps (Buda Musique, 2019)

Po Śladach / In the Footsteps” is the superb fourth album by Janusz Prusinowski Kompania, one of the leading folk ensembles in Poland.

Janusz Prusinowski Kompania (formerly: Janusz Prusinowski Trio) is a neotraditional group of musicians who follow the path of village masters they have learned from, such as Jan Lewandowski, Kazimierz Meto, Józef Zaraś, Piotr and Jan Gaca, Tadeusz Kubiak and many others. However, the ensemble is also an innovative act with their own characteristic fiddle and clarinet sound and language of engaging improvisation.

The skilled musicians combine music with dance and the archaic with the modern. Moreover, their tours and concerts incorporate educational activities, both in Poland and abroad.

Musicians: Janusz Prusinowski on fiddle, vocals, accordion, double bass, basy; Michał Żak on wooden flute, shawm, clarinet, saxophone, basy, vocals; Piotr Piszczatowski on tambourine, baraban drum, vocals; Szczepan Pospieszalski on trumpet, basy, vocals. Guest: Wojciech Pulcyn on double bass.
