“Traveling Wildfire” by acclaimed Grammy Award-winning musician and scholar, Dom Flemons, is the number one album on the North American College and Community radio (NACC) Folk Music Chart for the Week of April 4, 2023.
The much-anticipated album, “Traveling Wildfire,” was released on March 24, 2023, under the Smithsonian Folkways Recordings label. The album was produced by the seasoned Ted Hutt, known for his work with the likes of Old Crow Medicine Show and Lucero. It was recorded in the prestigious Kingsize Soundlabs, located in Los Angeles. With “Traveling Wildfire,” Flemons has embarked on an introspective journey to create his most intimate album to-date. The songs are a reflection of his recent revelations and spiritual growth, as well as a response to the current social climate.
The album consists of fifteen tracks that include a blend of original compositions and new renditions of traditional folk songs.
