Winners of the 2022 edition of Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas

Call for Flamenco Artists, Registration now Open for Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas 2023 Contest

The prestigious Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas has officially opened its registration period for the most outstanding flamenco artists worldwide. The Festival, renowned for its devotion to preserving the art of flamenco, is inviting applications for its categories of Singing, Guitar, Dance (male and female), and Flamenco Instrumentalist via its website www.festivalcantedelasminas.org.

Prospective participants have until June 1st, 2023, to apply, except for the flamenco instrumentalist category, which has an extended deadline of one month. As an added bonus, candidates can be nominated for some special prizes of this new edition within the XXII International Cultural Convocation until July 1st, 2023.

It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or not; any artist of the genre is welcome to participate, as long as they haven’t received any of the highest awards in previous editions. If selected, prepare to undergo one of the selective tests, which will be conducted throughout the national scene in the upcoming months. The semifinalists who make it through will then face off in La Unión on August 9, 10, and 11.

The pinnacle of the competition will take place on August 12th, where the new names that will earn the coveted trophies for flamenco singing (‘Lámpara Minera’), flamenco guitar (‘Bordón Minero’), flamenco dancing (‘Desplante’ for both male and female), and flamenco instrumentalist (‘Filón’) will be announced.
