Cape Verdean artist Lucibela is set to perform at the 16th edition of the Festival Au Fil des Voix at La Cigale in Paris on January 24, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.
Lucibela will perform the songs from her latest album “Amdjer” released in 2022. The recording pays tribute to Cape Verdean women, but also to women in general. She depicts the facts of daily life, which reflect not only their sorrows, their anxieties and their challenges, but also their strength and their determination to overcome, the joy of living and the theme of love, universal to all.
Recorded and mixed between Mindelo (Cape Verde), Paris and the Netherlands, “Amdjer” presents today a new lineup different from the one she used in her first work based on strings. In this new production she features piano, saxophone and bass, delivering a set of mornas and coladeiras, mazurca, slow batuku and bolero.
