  1. Over Yusufsbeat

    About Yusufsbeat
Yusufsbeat is a 10-piece afrofusion band from Amsterdam.

The band, formerly Zuluwannsago, was founded in 2007 by Yusuf Nuweku. The jazzy, funky Afro-groove they play with Latin and reggae outings, set on complex Ghanaian rhythms, are infectious to both the musicians and the audience. In 2014 Zuluwannsago is renamed: Yusufsbeat.

Inspired by his faith and life experience, Yusuf is responsible for all compositions and texts in which themes such as wisdom and transience are sung in a philosophical way. In addition, more political themes such as corruption and poverty are also discussed.

Despite or partly because of the different cultural backgrounds of the band members, Yusufsbeat preaches the only universal language there is on our planet: Music, the language that unites people!
