Hodíla ízba – Rites (hodíla ízba, 2022)

Russian band Hodíla ízba dedicates its latest album “Rites” to traditional rites of passage. The songs narrate the transitional stages of their ancestors’ lives. Topics include Leaving for the new world; saying goodbye to their families, whether they were going off to war or getting married.

The ensemble combines vocals rooted in Russian folk traditions with jazz, engaging beats and dreamy soundscapes.
