Artist Profiles: ZenKwun

Tasiwanese band ZenKwun combines Buddhist, nankuan, and peikuan (various forms of traditional Chinese music), Hakka, and Mongolian music with Western rock through the use of traditional Eastern instruments such as the suona, bamboo, flute, erhu, gongs, drums, guqin, pipa, zhongruan, and morin khuur; as well as technology to cause listeners to reflect and look within.

In 2022, the band released the single “Anthropologist”.

Angel Romero y Ruiz has dedicated his life to musical exploration. His efforts included the creation of two online portals, worldmusiccentral.org and musicasdelmundo.com.
