Chalaban, a world fusion band led by Moroccan musician Saïd Tichiti is currently touring the United States and Canada.
Chalaban was founded in 1999 in Budapest, Hungary, by Saïd Tichiti, of Berber origin on his mother’s side and black African on his father’s side.
The diversity of Chalaban’s sound includes exuberant Moroccan music and Gnawa grooves enhanced by Carpathian, Roma and Balkan music influences, with vocals in Arabic.
Chalaban has released six albums: Chalaban released 6 albums until now: Moroccan Nomad (Orphea Bt, 2000), Al Baraka (Fono Records, 2002), Moroccan Spring (NarRator Records, 2004), Nejdeb (NarRator Records, 2006), Hashish Freee (NarRator Records, 2009) and Gleimim (NarRator Records, 2017).
