Artist Profiles: Fireside Collective

Fireside Collective is a progressive bluegrass ensemble based in Asheville, North Carolina. The quintet won the 2016 Band Contest at the iconic American roots festival MerleFest and earned an International Bluegrass Music Association Momentum Band of the Year.

The group performs original material using bluegrass instrumentation and harmonies mixing various musical genres, including bluegrass, folk, blues, and funk.

The lineup includes Joe Cicero on guitar; Alex Genova on banjo; Jesse Iaquinto on mandolin and vocals; Tommy Maher on resonator guitar and vocals; and Carson White on upright bass.

Depending on where you come from and your experience with folk music, you may think we’re very traditional, or on the other hand, consider us a progressive act,” says Iaquinto. “We appreciate both ends of the spectrum and may lie on a different end on any given night.”

In February 2022, Fireside Collective released the single “Blue Is My Condition”.
