Masters of Hawaiian Music to Perform in Chicago: George Kahumoku Jr., Ledward Kaapana and Herb Ohta Jr.

George Kahumoku Jr., Ledward Kaapana and Herb Ohta Jr., three Hawaiian music masters are set to perform at Gary and Laura Maurer Concert Hall in Chicago on Friday, January 14.

George Kahumoku Jr.

George Kahumoku Jr. is a multiple Grammy-winner and virtuoso slack key guitarist. He is also a singer, storyteller, songwriter, teacher, sculptor, farmer, and chef.

Led Kaapana

Led Kaapana is another slack key guitar and National Heritage Fellow. He has been one of Hawaii’s most influential musicians for four decades. His mastery of stringed instruments, his exceptional picking style on slack key guitar and ‘ukulele, and his extraordinary baritone vocal range, have made him a musical legend and earned him multiple Na Hoku Awards.

Herb Ohta Jr.

Herb Ohta Jr. is an acclaimed ukulele virtuoso.
