Jongueiro Masters at Mestre dos Saberes Festival

Jongueiro masters performed at the Mestre dos Saberes Festival in December 2021. Jongueiros are performers of the Afro-Brazilian jongo dance. The show brought together jongueiros from the city of São Paulo and masters and direct descendants of the Jongueiros do Tamandaré, a neighborhood de Guaratinguetá, historical place of jongo in the State of São Paulo.

Lineup: São Paulo: Luiz Fonseca Lobo on voice and tambu; Paulo Dias on voice and tambu; Cesinha Azevedo on voice and tambu). Guaratinguetá: Regina Helena Jeremias on voice and tambu; Fatinha do Jongo on voice and tambu) and André Jongo on voice and tambu).
