Honduran singer-songwriter, guitarist, percussionist, and political activist, Aurelio Martinez is set to perform with The Garifuna Soul Band on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at (le) poisson rouge in New York city. The concert is part of the World Music Institute’s Origins series.
Aurelio Martinez is a leading Garifuna artist, who has released acclaimed albums and toured internationally at top world music festivals. The New York concert will be preceded by a performance by Wabafu Garifuna Dance Company, a Bronx-based ensemble dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich Garifuna culture nationwide through live music, song, drama, and dance.
