Kaftan D’Alma brings together two passionate traditions, Portuguese fado and Bosnian sevdah. Maja Milinković was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She fell in love with fado and relocated to Lisbon (Portugal) in 2013.
Gifted with a beautiful and commanding voice, Maja Milinković performs a set of fado songs in Portuguese recorded with masterful Portuguese musicians who deliver delightful guitar work and interplay with the vocals. Maja also performs a few songs in Bosnian. She invited skilled Bosnian musicians who participate in one song.
The lineup includes Maja Milinković on vocals; Luís Coelho on Portuguese guitar; Carlos Viçoso on fado guitar; Carlos Menezes on double bass; Mirza Hatunić on first classical guitar; Adis Hatunić on second classical guitar; Adnan Teskeredžić on percussion; and Osman Abdelmukaram on bass.
