The Lovely Nordic Voices of Kongero

Kongero – Live in Longueuil (Nordic Notes, 2021)

Live in Longueuil presents the live experience of a fabulous Swedish all-female vocal folk quartet called Kongero. The ensemble performs captivating versions of traditional Scandinavian songs with new a cappella arrangements that features finely crafted vocal interaction.

Kongero includes Lotta Andersson, Emma Björling, Anna Larsson and Anna Wikenius. In addition to recreating traditional songs, the four artists are also composers, who set poems to music.

The quartet’s name means “spider” in English. It is a word from a regional dialect spoken in Kongero’s region, the province of Jämtland in northern Sweden.
