Future Folk Concert with Sam Lee and Alice Zawadzki

Two highly respected artists, Sam Lee and Alice Zawadzki, are set to perform on Saturday, July 31, 2021 Future Folk concert at Saffron Walden, Saffron Hall in the UK.

Sam Lee is a celebrated award-winning singer, a folk song collector and conservationist. His critically acclaimed album Old Wow won many prizes in 2020 and will be issued in a deluxe edition titled Old Wow+ to coincide with this concert. Penguin Random House recently published Sam Lee’s book The Nightingale: Notes On A Songbird. Sam is closely linked to Extinction Rebellion and is a founder member of Music Declares Emergency.

For the Future Folk concert, Sam has invited Alice Zawadzki to join him on the bill, and then guest with his group. Alice often gets described as a jazz singer although like Sam, she defies easy categories. Alice will be joined by bass player Misha Mullov-Abbado, also a member of Sam’s band, and her band.

Alice Zawadzki is a violinist, songwriter, composer, vocalist, and improviser. Her influences include New Orleans soul and gospel, classical music and an exploration of world music and improvisation. Alice Zawadzki’s most recent album is Within You is a World of Spring.
