Artist Profiles: Retimbrar (Portugal)

Retimbrar is an evolving musical collective from Porto that explores deep Portuguese traditional rhythms, songs and instruments. The collective was created in 2008 by Andrés’ Pancho’ Tarabbia, an Uruguayan percussionist based in Portugal. He was later joined by António Serginho.

The lineup usually includes ten musicians including five percussionists, along with vocalists and other instrumentalists. The performances are interactive and Retimbrar frequently holds pre-event workshops.
