Lebanese singer-songwriter Tania Saleh has released a new album titled “10 A.D.” (10 Years After Divorce).
“10 A.D.” explores the conditions for women from different angles, particularly the reality a divorced woman must deal with in a country such as Lebanon. The right to decide over one’s own body, midlife crises, vanity, hyper consumerism, social pressure, addiction to the virtual world and the injustice of the patriarchal Middle East.
Tania describes the style of her new album “Indie Arabic”, where Mediterranean melodies arranged for traditional Arabic instruments and a classical string quartet are wrapped in an electronic soundscape somewhere between alternative rock and trip-hop.
