Two outstanding Cuban musicians, famed Latin jazz piano virtuoso Gonzalo Rubalcaba and remarkable singer Aymée Nuviola, recorded this superb album live at the Blue Note Club in Tokyo, Japan.

Viento y Tiempo is a wonderful celebration of Latin Jazz and Cuban musical forms such as rumba, changüí, son cubano, danzón (Gonzalo’s father was a well-known danzón musician) and timba as well as passionate bolero, a genre that is widely beloved in Spanish-speaking America and Spain.

The song selection includes many popular Cuban classics made famous by Los Van Van, Celia Cruz, Antonio Machín, and Bebo Valdés and Diego el Cigala, among others.

The lineup includes Aymée Nuviola on lead vocals; Gonzalo Rubalcaba on piano, synthesizer and vocals; Cristobal “El Profe” Verdecia on bass; Reinier Guerra on drums; Neiger “Majito” Aguilera on percussion; Yainer Horta on soprano and alto saxophone; Kazuhiko Hondo on saxophone; Lourdes Nuviola on backing vocals and lead vocals on “Rumba Callejera,” and Alfredo Lugo on backing vocals.
