Órla Fallon – Lore (Green Hill Music, 2020)
Irish singer, harp player and composer Órla Fallon has recorded an album of traditional Celtic songs that she has cherished throughout her life. The selection includes Irish and Scottish songs and musical pieces performed in English and Gaelic.
Lore features Órla’s captivating, delightful vocals and evocative harp. She is accompanied by arranger and multi-instrumentalist Dan Shea and David Davidson on fiddle.
Órla Fallon is from Knockananna in County Wicklow, Ireland. She was one of the founders of the highly popular Celtic Woman group. In 2008, Fallon started a solo career.
In 2009 she won four Irish Music Association Awards including, Best Solo Singer and Best Harpist. Her version of ‘The Water Is Wide’ appeared on the popular American soap opera ‘The Bold and the Beautiful.’
In December of 2010, Orla presented her first solo public television special, ‘Orla Fallon’s Celtic Christmas.’ The concert was released on CD and DVD.
In 2011, Orla returned to Public Television Special with ‘My Land’, an Irish music celebration featuring the legendary Dubliners, Tommy Fleming, Damien Dempsey and The Dublin Gospel Choir. The show was released on CD and DVD.
In 2012 she released “Lullaby Time“; a compilation of lullabies.
In 2017, Orla released “Sweet By and By,” an album with an American country music feel and includes American classics as Peter, Paul and Mary’s “Five Hundred Miles “, Johnny Cash’s ” I still Miss Someone” and “In The Sweet By and By .“
