Poems for Orchestra is a truly exquisite album from Swedish composer and double bass player Anders Jormin. In this album he is joined by folk and jazz fiddler Lena Willemark, Japanese koto player Karin  Nakahawa and contemporary jazz ensemble Bohuslän Big Band.

On Poems for Orchestra, Anders Jormin masterfully weaves in contemporary jazz, Swedish folk influences and Japanese elements. It is a beautifully constructed and stylish hip album that provides stellar instrumental and vocal performances by all musicians involved.

The music on Poems for Orchestra was selected from an extensive commission for big band that was presented in the fall of 2018.

Bohuslän Big Band: Joakim Rolandson on saxophone and flute; Martin Svanström on clarinet and saxophone; Ove Ingermarsson on saxophone; Mikael Karlsson on saxophone and flute; Alberto Pinton on saxophone and flute; Stefan Wingefors on piano; and Goran Kroon on drums.
